The coastline of Côtes d’Armor covers 350 kilometres. Behind each headland a new landscape unfolds, changing to the rhythm of the tides. Frequently sketched by the most famous of artists, our coastal landscapes should be savoured without moderation. Here, the sea is what sets the tone that orchestrates the symphony of colours. It cuts out red cliffs, sculpts pink rocks, attracts birds, and covers the beaches in softs sand or shingle. When the tide goes out twice a day, it uncovers huge areas and allows people to collect shellfish in pools of limpid water. When it comes in again, it sees multicoloured boats charging through the waves as they leave to make their catches. Here, fishing is not just a craft, but also a culture anchored deeply in people's hearts.
